Special Friends Veterinary Clinic is a team of health care professionals devoted to providing a warm, personal atmosphere where clients and pets are recognized by name and treated like family while emphasizing superior preventative medicine and offering the newest, most modern medical and surgical techniques.

Our veterinary clinic employs a dedicated staff of 12 individuals who work together as a team to bring the very best medical care to your pets. Our staff has 150+ combined years of veterinary experience. We know how to provide the finest care for your pets. Our people truly make the difference!

  • Terry Woltman, MS DVM

    Terry Woltman, MS DVM

    Dr. Woltman earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Texas A&M and a masters degree in wildlife biology. He decided to pursue veterinary medicine after he took his dog in for an emergency and realized how wonderful it would be to help other people and their pets in similar situations. He maintains a genuine love and concern for all of his patients and their owners. Dr. Woltman's two daschunds, B.G. and Baby Grace can often be seen around the clinic.

  • Elise Kish, DVM

    Elise Kish, DVM

    A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Elise Kish joined Special Friends Veterinary Clinic originally as an Associate Veterinarian back in 2005. She returned to Special Friends in September 2010. Dr. Kish earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia where she received the Dean Emeritus Thomas J. Jones Cup and the J.T. Mercer Scholarship for Veterinary Excellence in 2000. Dr. Kish comes from a long lineage of veterinarians including her grandfather, uncle and cousin all of who inspired her love of animals. Dr. Kish and her husband enjoy spending time with their four children, two cats and Jack Russell, Daisy.

  • Teressa, CVT

    Teressa, CVT

    Teressa was born in Michigan and worked at a small animal clinic there before moving to Colorado. She moved to Colorado in March 2006 and attended Bel-Rea, earning her CVT in September 2007. She has one horse named Jaz, a lovable St. Bernard named Peni and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Gunner. In her spare time she likes to go horseback riding, snowboarding, camping, hiking and spending time with her friends. She started working at Special Friends in December 2007.

  • Leigh Ann, CVT

    Leigh Ann, CVT

    Leigh Ann is a certified veterinary technician who graduated from Bel-Rea in June in 2005 with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.  She is a experienced phlebotomist and laboratory technician and particularly enjoys helping in surgery and working in our lab. Leigh Ann is currently attending Colorado State University for Career & Technical Education Degree. As a native to Colorado, she enjoys outdoors hobbies like camping, snowboarding, hiking & swimming. Leigh Ann has a full house with two great cats & a black lab puppy, Stella who goes to the park and plays fetch daily.

  • Karen, CVT

    Karen, CVT

    Karen has a B.A. in Anthropology and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She graduated from Bel-Rea in 2010, earning her CVT in August of that year. Karen grew up training horses, and is C.H.A. Level 1 Certified. She served in the Peace Corps for two years in St. Vincent, West Indies. She has a dog named Callaloo, and she loves to be outdoors - skiing, hiking, horseback riding, etc. She also teaches aerobics. Currently Karen is attending the University of Colorado Denver.

    Tina, CVT

    Welcome Tina to the Special Friends family! Tina graduated from Bel-Rea in 2011 and joined SFVC in April. She moved to Colorado in 1998 and enjoys biking, reading, painting, jewelry making and baking. Of course, many activties also include her two dogs, Halia and Nalu.

    Erin, Room Assistant

    Erin graduated from the University of California in San Diego where she received a B.S. in Biology. She worked at a clinic in San Diego for two years before she moved to Colorado in 2007. She has a daughter named Haley, a son named Jacob, an orange tabby cat named Tigger and an adorable dog named Belle. In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, hiking, horseback riding and playing with her children. She has ridden horses since she was seven and showed horses competitvely growing up. She has been working at Special Friends since September of 2007.

    Jill, Receptionist

    Jill is a certified veterinary technician who is now working as a receptionist. She graduated from St. Petersburg College's Veterinary Technician Program in 1998. Jill is originally from Miami, FL then moved to Tampa, FL where she met her husband Charlie. They moved to Aurora in 2002. They have a son named Charlie, two chihuahuas named ChiChi and ChaCha and two cats: Madie and LBG. Jill started working for Special Friends in December 2004.

    Barb, Receptionist

    Barbara has called Colorado home twice, the first time in 1982 and most recently in 2007. She has two daughters named Carla and Jessica, a son named Aaron and five grandchildren named Anya, Jenessa, David, Jayden and Bella. She also has four dogs named Jazzy, Joey, Jake and Jade and a rabbit named Karter. Before moving back to Colorado, she worked for seven years as a receptionist in a North Carolina clinic. She started working for Special Friends in October 2007.

    Debbie, Receptionist

    Debbie graduated from Metropolitan State in 1990 with a B.A. in Hotel, Restaurant & Travel Management. Then she attended Bel-Rea, earning her CVT in 1996. Debbie is a Colorado native. She grew up on a working farm ranch with a menagerie of animals from peacocks to cattle. She has two siamese cats named Ziam and Sukoshi. In her spare time she enjoys the many challenges of home and yard improvement. She originally worked for Special Friends back in 1996 as a technician. She rejoined us in 2010 as a receptionist.

  • Vickie, Groomer

    Vickie, Groomer

    Vickie has been grooming for 24 years. She graduated from the Colorado School of Dog Grooming in 1984, and later was an instructor there for a year. She has two grown children, Heather and Nathan, and four grandchildren: Michael, Wyatt, Emma and Emily. She also has three dogs named Freckles, Shane and Donut. Vickie enjoys being outdoors, a few of her hobbies being camping, fishing, gardening and horseback riding. She has been working at Special Friends since April 1993.

  • Linda, Groomer

    Linda, Groomer

    Linda works full time for Cherry Creek School District but has spent the last 17 years of her weekends and school vacations grooming pets. She has one son, Raymond and three dogs named Chance, Rue and Honey. Linda grooms cats as well as dogs, and is well known for her ability to handle our most challenging grooming patients. She has been with our clinic since April 1993.
